Sales Director

A leading digital performance agency, Digital Fusion seeks a Sales Director to accelerate its rapid growth.  Owning the sales quota, the Director of Sales is a player / coach who manages a small sales and support team to generate new business and cross-sell existing customers.  Leading from the front, this key leader works side-by-side with the sales team and executive leadership.  Through a consultative selling approach, our digital marketing agency helps existing and prospective customers understand the return on investment (ROI) Digital Fusion can deliver through our full range of digital performance marketing services.  The Sales Director will own the entire customer acquisition process from lead generation, qualification, contract signing, and handoff to the account / service team.  Located at our Denver headquarters or Indianapolis office, this position reports to the Founder and CEO.

Essential Duties

  • Selling "in the trenches", this leadership role is not a Director job where one simply oversees the work of a sales team. Daily activities, for example, include the Director nurtures existing prospect, customer, and channel relationships via phone and email.

  • Coach team members on their prospecting and presentation skills.

  • Achieve assigned sales quota for sales team.

  • Set expectations, measure, and coach each member of the sales team.

  • Leveraging the digital agency’s existing selling process, tools, and methodology, evolve our disciplined approach to business development.

  • Collaborate with Inside Sales Lead to understand and help evolve current lead generation programs and go-to-market campaigns.

  • Prospect new opportunities within Digital Fusion’s target industries secure initial meetings to demonstrate our end-to-end solutions and results approach.

  • Build and nurture strong customer relationships + the ability to recognize and present strategic solutions to achieve/exceed their marketing objectives.

  • Effectively articulate Digital Fusion’s value proposition verbally and through case study-related presentations to current and prospective customers.

  • Sell through partner sales organizations to end users in coordination with partner sales resources.

  • Drive core business results through channel sales team and strategic partnerships.

  • Develop relationships with Salesforce account executives (AEs) and RVPs to differentiate Digital Fusion, nurture additional sales opportunities, and build effective relationships that grows this key sales channel.

  • Maintain high partner satisfaction ratings, meeting company standards.

  • Coordinate the involvement of company employees, including support, service, and account management resources.

  • Closely coordinate company executive involvement with key partners and customers.

  • Work closely with Account Management team to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution.

  • Own and update customer-facing sales materials (PowerPoint presentations, case studies, sales collateral, pricing templates, etc.), with the support of in-house creative designers and software developers.

  • Regular travel required.

  • Other customer, business development, marketing and operational duties, as required.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • 5-10+ years of sales experience in a business-to-business sales environment with consistent track record of exceeding quota.
  • Working knowledge and hands on experience with digital marketing technologies (CRM, email, mobile, social, display, search, web) is essential.
  • Working knowledge to use the digital marketing tools we sell, including social media, blogs, and more.
  • Experience with marketing technology SaaS vendors required.
  • Experience selling in an agency environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, DoubleClick by Google (or other display ad platforms), and Analytics software a plus.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Four-year college degree required.
